In an economy predicated by constant change, coaching professionals around the issue of how to navigate career transitions is becoming an increasingly sought-after skill. The challenge of career transition is an opportunity to identify new career choices, unlimited by the constraints of a current or recent role. Coaching clients through something as important as their working lives can be enormously rewarding. It is however, a particularly vulnerable time in an individual’s life as the stakes are high and depending on the reason for transition, a person’s level of confidence can also be impacted. Trust is therefore key in the coaching relationship. As the relationship develops, the Coach will play a critical role in developing career goals, thinking through career strategies and designing career paths. Partnering with clients is more than a step-by-step process, it is an intentional, deliberate and delicate balance of exploration, insight and discovery.

In this session, participants will:

1.Gain insight into the psychology of career transitions

2. Explore new career paradigm shifts

3. Develop coaching strategies to foster client confidence

4. Examine a framework for career decision making Review a case study
