ICF Philadelphia is excited to announce we will be offering Coaching Supervision as part of our 2021 Community of Practice series. Ken Giglio, Principal of Mindful Leadership Consulting, and a certified coach supervisor, will be leading supervision groups for external and internal coaches based on his Tri-Lens Coaching Supervision Model™. The sessions will be tailored toward the unique challenges that come with coaching situations for coaches working with clients internally or externally. These quarterly virtual meetings include 15 minutes of networking with attendees and 1.5 hours of coaching supervision.

Coaching Supervision is a collaborative learning practice to continually build the capacity of the coach through reflective dialogue for the benefit of the coaches, their clients, and their organizations. (adapted ICF definition). Group supervision uniquely provides a space for collective reflection and learning. Coaches explore the depth and breadth of their coaching work through three lens—self as coach; relationship with the client; influence of the system/s in which the client works. The group experience is designed to build a coach’s confidence, competence, connection, creativity, and compassion.

The ICF recognizes coaching supervision as part of a coach’s continuing professional development, and up to 10 hours of coaching supervision (delivering and/or receiving) will be counted toward Continuing Coach Education requirements. (Note: Ongoing coaching supervision is a required practice by European and Australian coaching bodies, and it is also required by a growing number of corporations for coaches to obtain work.)

Participants will receive 1.5 Core Competency CCEUs

Pre-work for Coaching Supervision:

Please come prepared to present to the group a coaching case or theme/s from your coaching practice that you are curious about, have questions around, or may be struggling with.

Reflect on how this coaching situation is impacting you and your relationship with your coaching client, and also reflect on how the system in which the client works might be impacting the coaching engagement. Ask yourself…

What am I noticing?
What am I sensing in my body and my surroundings?
