Session Description: In the last couple of decades, as the impact of coaching at the senior levels became more apparent, there has been a heightened interest in the power of coaching beyond the executive level. This has led to the investment of organizations to provide coaching skills for leaders. Organizations also have seen the potential to change the culture, where not only formal coaching occurs, but also where most people use coaching behaviors as a means of managing, influencing, and communicating with each other.
The Defense Intelligence Agency has made an investment in creating an environment that values learning and growth of its people through Officer Development and internal coach training. In that process many shareable lessons were learned on how to structure and set up a program for success. In this presentation Dr. Theodora Fitzsimmons will describe the elements of their groundbreaking internal program and share some of the lessons learned along the way. From that experience she will also share her 5 Step-Safety Strategy that supports keeping ethics sharp while also discussing how to adapt your coaching agreement to ensure compliance with the organization’s needs.
